March 2008

We, The Boeing Stratocruisers North, met at Alphy's, Silver lake, for our monthly meeting. Promptly, at 5:00 P.M. our president, Joanne Luster called the meeting to order with her seeing eye gavel.

Minutes of the February meeting were read by Bonnie Smith, secretary, and stand as read Treasurer Mark Thomson gave the treasurer's report.

OLD STUFF;

June 7th (a Saturday) is the painting party at the home of George and Joanne Luster. The trailer needs one more coat of paint (we have the paint). We will also check out the canopies stored in the trailer to see if they are good for another July car show or if we have to get new ones. Then party, pot luck for all!

NEW STUFF;

Our Chuckanut Drive trip will be combined with other clubs and we will eat at a restaurant. Our Leavenworth trip will also be combined with other clubs.

OTHER FUN STUFF TO DO THIS SEASON;

March 15-16, Puyallup swap meet.

March 22nd we caravan to Street Rod Visions, located at 5629-208th St. S.W., suite B, Lynnwood, Wa., 98036, phone #(425) 774-4594. We will meet at K-Mart on Evergreen Way (Everett) at 10:45 A.M. and caravan to the shop. After the tour we will go to the Roadhouse for lunch (located at hwy 99 and 128th, Everett, across from Home Depot)

April 26th, Drager's Classic Shoreline-more information at the April meeting.

May 17th and 18th is the swap meet at Monroe.

May 26, Colby Car Show. We are trying to have the most cars registered at this show so get those registrations in. The plan is to meet at Lowe's parking lot in Everett (2505 Pacific Ave) at 5:30 A.M. and then caravan up to the entrance at 5:45 so we can all park together.

July 20, Kla-Ha-Yah days; Joanne Luster made up signs for where the people will go for pre-registration and registration at the desk and we will put them up high so everyone can see them. Disclaimers will also be there for all to see.

We won't be using the lollypops with our logo and web site.

Gary O'Leary made a motion that we put our website on our membership registration.

We will have a Name-That-Tune contest and give out a tee-shirt to the winner--

Mark Thomson will give out the shirts. Lots of different ideas were given to liven up the show for us.

July 26th is the day for showing our cars at the Village at Granite Falls.

We plan on rebadging several of the left-over trophies to use on this day.

We will recognize our favorite resident, the staff and residents will pick the winning cars.

August 30th-September 1st, Unfinished Nationals in Elma.

Greg from Retro-Rods (he's the son of our illustrious president) showed off his 1932 Ford roadster at the Seattle Roadster show and he is also traveling to other states with his 1957 Chrysler Imperial, which is another BEAUTIFUL car.

We had two special guests. Willie Spann brought his friend from Nashville (they were Air Force buddies) and Ken White, the president of the North End Studebaker club. We Were pleased to have these guests. We also had 25 members present.

Willie Spann and Phil Simons did the split-the-pot and John Lato won. John was pleased and we thank Willie and Phil.

A NOTE OF INTEREST;

Ed Osgood had some information on Cascade Auto& Truck Wrecking Inc. (18412 Bothell-Everett highway S.E., Bothell, phone #(425)338-1922). They lost their lease and are selling out. They have all kinds of parts for most vehicles (sounds like there might be a bargain or two in there).

Respectfully submitted,
Bonnie Smith,
Secretary
