June 2008

The Everett Boeing Stratocruisers met at Alfy's pizza, Silver Lake location. Promptly, at 5:00 P.M

Our illustrious president Joanne Luster pounded her gavel and started the meeting. Bonnie Smith read the minutes and Mark Thomson gave the treasurer's report.

Mark got the tabs and a new plate for the trailer. Mark is on the ball and got it done before time.

Our website is down and do we really need one? John Novak has looked into several sites and the most reasonable site he found is $150.00 for two years. We voted to accept this offer.

We have a cabinet at the Boeing rec. center which Joanne and George see to it that it's updated each month with new pictures of car of the month and various car related items There are also pictures of car shows and garage tours. Car of the month is John Novak and he will display pictures of several vehicles, maybe even Louella's yellow truck.

Kla-Ha-Yah Days festival in Snohomish: The current poster has "Best of Show", 2007, (1955 Chevy) on it. The car will be here for the show and will have a special spot for display. Our meeting spot will be on the other side of the street from our previous spot. There will be no parking on A street so the business people can park their cars. The police chief of Snohomish is car club friendly so we gave him the honor (along with the mayor) to choose a car with their title on it. We make our money selling T shirts and will get 96 gray shirts to sell. Anyone can work on the car show to register their car for free but MUST WORK! Work starts at 5:30A.M. Joanne has been working on "Display Only" signs for club members who wish to show their cars but not for trophies. She also made tickets for the "Name That Tune" winners---nice work! Christmas House sent a message that they need workers to pick up "Lost and Found" jackets, sweaters and sweatshirts from the local schools. The dates for this would be the last week of school or the week after, Monday through Friday, no weekend work. June 7th (to paint the trailer) has been moved to September because of bad weather.

CAR SHOWS: June 15th will be the car show at Ashley Retirement at Lake Stevens. Show will be noon to 3:00 P.M. Meet at K Mart (Evergreen Way, south Everett) at 11:00A.M. to caravan. Free lunch, no fees, no trophies, just a good time and the residents are sure to enjoy the show. On June 15th there is also a car show at Northshore Christian church in Mukilteo which will start at 9:00 A.M. (entrance fee and trophies) Good show too! September 19-21 there will be a rod run and car show at Leavenworth. Friday, the 19th, there will be dinner at 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the 59er Diner. Saturday, the 20th, 10:00A.M.-3:00P.M., car show next to Der Ritterhof Hotel (this car show is just for fun--no entry fees, no awards, no hassle). Sunday, the 21st, 11:00A.M.-12:00P.M. lunch at the 59er Diner. 12 noon hit the road back home and maybe we'll take the back roads to Index and Monroe. Come when you can, leave when you must. Clubs taking part in this event are: The Pacific Northwest Nash Region, The Inland Empire Nash Region, The Snohomish Rambler Club, The Hudson Club of Washington State, The Northern Puget Sound Studebaker Club and the Boeing STRATOCRUISERS. September 13th will be the rod run up Chuckanut Drive. We'll eat too, we just don't know where! Thanks to John Novak and Phil Simons for collecting split-the-pot and John Novak for winning and donating winnings back to the club. You guys are great!

Meeting adjourned at 5:55P.M. 22 members and guests attended.

Respectfully submitted,
Bonnie Smith, secretary
