The Boeing Stratocruisors met at Alfy's, Silver Lake for our 5 P.M. meeting.
Promptly, at 5 P.M., Joanne Luster, our illustrious president, (with the largest
gavel in Snohomish county) called our meeting to order.
Bonnie Smith read the June minutes Treasurer Mark Thomson gave the report later
in the meeting.
George and Joanne found a sunny day since our last meeting and put another coat
of white paint on our trailer---what a presidential couple!!
Kla-Ha-Ya Days starts at 5:30 A.M. for our workers--we get to have first choice
on where to park and we also get in free. The John Lato family has the music under
control and will also announce our sponsors during the show. They decorated the
back of the speaker with a white tee shirt from our previous show and it looks GREAT!!
Wonderful advertisement for our club. THANK YOU . Mike Burks presented the 2008
poster for raffle and we will do that tonight. Mike also updated us on how the show
is progressing and pleased that the elected board will be working registration.
CAR SHOWS the members have attended this past month. June 15th Fathers DAY. Northshore
Christian Church had a very good show. The weather was beautiful, lots of cars attended
and there were great prizes. Willie Spann won 1st place in his division. Congratulations
Willie!! June 15th Ashley Point , a retirement center had a small show 15 to 20
cars, nice lunch and a good time for us CAR LOVERS and the residents.
The web site is not up and running but will be soon. Gary O'Leary has a $100 certificate
for Chevs of the 40's and it will be raffled off on our Kla-Ha-Ya Days car show
on July 20th, 2008 Christmas party--we will combine with the truck club and will
decide the date and place by next month. Joanne had several options to choose from
for suitable sites. CAR SHOWS: July 26--The Village at Granite Falls. Show time
11-2P.M. Great lunch served to all. Meet 10A.M. at K-Mart on in Everett on Evergreen
Way and caravan to show. August 9th--Street Rod Visions, 5629 208th St. S.W., Lynnwood.
11-5P.M. Invitation only car show (we happen to be invited). They serve lunch and
have door prizes and trophies. August 16th--Timber Ridge car and bike show, no registration
fee. Trophies, live music, BBQ. Timber Ridge community church, Lynnwood. located
at 18820 36th Ave. W., Lynnwood. Show is free but it would be appreciated if you
would bring a bag of food for the local food bank. Sept.7th Bellingham Studebaker
Club Whatcom County mini meet at Hovander Homstead Park Ferndale, Wa. Mike Burks
wife is related to the people that have owned that property for many years, There
are buildings and lots of things to see from long ago, Sept. 13 our Chuckanut Drive,
Fairhaven was suggested for our lunch, there are many good places to eat in this
small town. Sept.19-21 Make your plans to go on this Leavenworth run. Dining will
be at the 59er Diner, use your daily driver, or your show car.
Car of the month goes to Jim Giarde.
Split the pot was sold by Karen and Phil Simons, and Mike Fratus won and generously
donated back to the club, great guy.
Mike Smith won the 2008 poster for kla-ha-yah days., he was happy. 22 members present,
meeting adjourned 6 p.m.
