October 2008

Meeting was called to order by our illustrious president, Joanne Luster, with her seeing eye gavel, promptly at 5:00 P.M.
Treasurer's report by Mark Thomson.

Minutes; Trish made an oral report of last month's activities.

The Lynnwood food bank is always busiest on Wednesdays and they always need help.  John Lato will ask and let us know when we can help.

Ed Osgood gave a report on the trophy comittee.  They had some interesting ideas about future car shows.  The next trophy meeting will be next month (Nov.5) at 4:00 P.M. here at Alfy's.

We had several guests and had 21 members present for the meeting.

The web site is up and running (thank you John Novak) and paid up for two years.  I will send the web address with this newsletter.

Car of the month for October is Willie Spann.

November will be the month for electing a new President and  Treasurer.
There will be no meeting in December.  We install new officers at the Christmas party.

We will have our annual Christmas Party on December 17, Wednesday, at Shawn O'Donnells restaurant, $25
per person of which the club will pay $10 per couple. The truck club is also attending.  We will have our gift exchange with Santa ("white elephant" gifts of $20 maximum) and truck club will do their thing.

Christmas House will use us on December 3 and 15, 9A.M.-3P.M.

Everyone that went on the Chuckanut drive run had a good time and enjoyed a beautiful day.

Ferndale had about 50 Studebakers and not many other cars.  Tom Joy got another trophy!  Congratulations, Tom!  Tom also attended an Acura NSX cruise with his brother.

October 25th, a Saturday, will be a visit to Retro Rods.  Leave K-Mart (south Everett)  at 10 minutes to 11A.M. and get there by noon.  Mexican lunch in Monroe after the visit.

Monroe swap meet October 11 and 12.  Greg Mathers will have spots 50 and 51 at the Monroe fairgrounds (you can sell stuff at one of his spots but you have to stick with it until it's sold).

John Lato talked about getting rid of out-dated equipment.  We decided that was a good idea and will keep the CD player for backup. The stuff is for our car show in July when we provide the music.
Greg Mathers did split-the-pot.  Greg won and donated his winnings to the Christmas House jug.  Thanks Greg!
Meeting was adjourned at 6P.M.
